Annapurna will premiere in an hour its first digital event showing the games it will launch as a publisher. For now we have confirmed a total of 4 games and an expansion, which is not bad for a studio that is dedicated to editing and publishing small studio indies.
The best known game is probably Stray, one of the games shown as next-gen over a year ago. The title drew attention because it lets us control a cat in a futuristic setting, its trailer left several loose ends so players are waiting for more details.
Indie news
This is followed by Solar Ash from Heart Machine. This would be a continuation of Hyper Light Drifter, although not a direct one according to its developers. HLD was a 2D action adventure game that used classic graphics, Solar Ash will do the same in the graphics department. However little is known about its playability.
Then we have Neon White, a title coming to PC and Switch this year. We are talking about a first person shooter with platform mechanics. Beyond a shared trailer in a Nintendo Direct there are few details of a title that seems to be based on anime aesthetics.
There is also The Artful Escape is a two-dimensional adventure in which we control a guitarist who has started a journey in search of his musical identity. It is played as a platform and we can use the guitar to break through or fight against enemies. With a new trailer we would know its release date.
Finally, there is Mobius Digital’s Outer Wilds which won many Game of the Year or Indie Game of the Year awards in 2019. Everything seems to indicate that we will receive an expansion, but it is not confirmed, so we just have to wait a little longer.
