Respawn Entertainment has published by surprise a new Apex Legends video featuring a new battle royale game mode. Curiously, this mode makes Apex no longer only of this genre, since this arena mode introduces mechanics very similar to those of the classic CS: GO team deathmatch.
In addition, the trailer has served to reveal more of V alkyrie, in fact this is the first time we see her in action since before we saw a cinematic trailer and then a season presentation with a teaser of the legend at the end. However, in the presentation of the new mode called “Arenas” we saw her firing missiles, flying and using her thrusters to attack.
The most classic mode
Likewise, these are still Valkyrie teasers and a more formal gameplay presentation is expected soon. Especially since this trailer is focused on the Arena, the mode will be 3v3 like the battle royale, but this time we will enter a smaller default map and with more shooting options.
Each team will receive resources and access to the store to acquire the equipment they want, however, they will not be able to buy everything. After each round we will be able to receive more resources depending on the performance and we will have the possibility of improving weapons and equipment. The best of three rounds will win with two margin victories, if this is not the case it will be the best of five games with the last round being “sudden death”.
Details of this mode are still missing, such as knowing how many teams there are per game (for now it seems two teams of three members), as well as the global rewards for participating in Arenas. The reaction from the community has been positive, especially from those who are expecting a classic mode since the game’s launch.
Arenas will premiere on May 4, the same day that the new season and the new legend, Valkyrie, opens.
