EA confirms some of the Battlefield 2042 benefits that players can expect if they are subscribed to EA Play or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
After months of rumors, leaks and speculation, EA and DICE have officially revealed Battlefield 2042. The next Battlefield game will launch on October 22 for many platforms, but those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play will get some additional benefits. From the looks of it, anyone who wants to get the most out of Battlefield 2042 will definitely want to sign up for one of the services.
Like many other games published by EA, Battlefield 2042 will have a 10-hour free trial available to all EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers starting October 15, allowing subscribers to play the game one week earlier than others. Subscribers will also receive the first details on the Battlefield 2042 open beta, although more specific details on what exactly that will entail have not yet been revealed at the time of writing.
In addition to early access to the game and then the open beta, EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate have other perks available for Battlefield 2042 players to take advantage of. There will be special rewards for subscribers each month, although exactly what those rewards are remains to be seen. Additionally, subscribers can get a 10% discount when purchasing the full Battlefield 2042 game. And since the Battlefield 2042 price is $ 10 higher on next-gen consoles, that discount will definitely come in handy.

For some, this may refute rumors that Battlefield 2042 is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. After all, if that happened, you’d think it would be mentioned on the perks list. However, there is a chance that such an announcement will still take place, and the perfect opportunity for that to happen would be at the Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 joint event taking place on June 13.
The Battlefield 2042 reveal trailer concluded with the promise that the game’s reveal would take place on June 13. The exact time was not mentioned, but June 13 coincides with the Xbox E3 2021 press conference. And since EA won’t have its E3 equivalent event until July 22, the logical conclusion is that the Battlefield game reveal 2042 will likely happen during the Xbox E3 2021 event. Xbox could generate a ton of buzz for Xbox Game Pass by showing the Battlefield 2042 game and then immediately announcing it as a Day One Game Pass game.
Of course, the Battlefield 2042 Xbox Game Pass rumors could be false, so fans should keep that in mind as well. Fortunately, those looking forward to Battlefield 2042 won’t have to wait much longer to find out, as the game’s reveal will arrive on June 13.
Battlefield 2042 launches October 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
