Lanzadera and Broken Bird Games announced Mourning at the PlayStation Talents event. This indicates that it is a Sony bet for a horror title that promises to be very special, it is something that we can notice in the words that the narrator says in the trailer. Its developers plan to investigate issues such as depression and anxiety, so the more traditional horror of monsters and ghosts takes a back seat.
The real enemies will be the problems of a character who, overwhelmed by mourning, cannot even leave his own house. The gameplay that we have seen is about walking through corridors, some more gloomy than others. But we can imagine that the game will be about how our mind plays with us.
Terror on PlayStation
Details such as the release date and the platforms on which it will be released are still missing, since for now we only have a 1-minute trailer and the announcement that it will arrive on PC and PlayStation. We can imagine that it will eventually hit Steam and PS4 and PS5, but we’ll have to wait to confirm this.

For their part, in a press release the developers shared this description of the game.
“Mourning is a narrative experience of psychological horror in the first person where you will take the role of an individual unable to leave his own home. Finding a way to escape it will take you through a series of paths that will test your senses ”.
As for the gameplay, we can see much of the Silent Hill saga and even the never-released PT that years later continues to influence practically all psychological horror video game developers. There are mostly corridors that change our perspective a lot depending on the time of day.
