On the launch day of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 Reloaded comes an interesting leak from a popular source. The leak was allegedly sparked due to a new map being added in the highly anticipated midseason patch. While fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War have several requested remakes in mind, the leaker only has one known fact for sure.
Each Call of Duty title offers the possibility of map remakes. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War set in the Black Ops timeline, fan-favorite maps of the past are at the forefront of player requests. Still, that doesn’t mean the developers will add them to the game, but this leaker thinks some are planned after Express is added.
Veteran Call of Duty leaker and Activision insider @ TheMW2Ghost tweeted that Treyarch is planning eight more remakes for future seasons. The leaker guesses that one or two remade maps will appear each season from now on. Considering that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ran for six seasons, many expect Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to follow a similar pattern. That leaves the math in line with expected content updates, giving fans a certain level of credibility to the leaker’s claim.

Fans already have several Call of Duty: Black Ops maps in mind. There are notable fan favorite locations like Fringe, Hijacked, Grid, and many more. There is also a chance that Firing Range will be remade despite an existing remake in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. While no map can be ruled out, all eyes are on Treyarch as to what will come next.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans were uncomfortable during launch due to the restrictive map selection. As new maps are added to the title, many players express gratitude and better experiences within the title.
Still, Activision and Treyarch must exercise caution, as remakes of the classic Black Ops maps can go both ways. Either the community will accept the map with open arms, or they will turn against you, claiming that the original was a better design for the title.
