Nuclear bombs have begun to fall on the Call Of Duty: Warzone battlefield. But luckily for gamers, it seems someone forgot to arm these warheads before dropping them on Verdansk.
We’ve known for a long time that Warzone has some kind of nuclear apocalypse in store, but it appears the missiles have been fired, and several players have detected nuclear warheads pre-emptively erupting from silos before crashing to earth, without an explosion.
A clip shared by Warzone ModernWarzone got very close to one of these impacts, showing the magnitude of these things before it disappears with a breath of air. It is not the nuclear armageddon we expected.

It’s a pretty strange interaction. Missiles have been flying over the skies of Verdansk for a while, an event that players think is a preview of what’s to come, but this impact feels totally out of place. Not only is it happening seemingly randomly, but the missile doesn’t actually do anything once it hits the ground. Redditor AmedeeO10 posted similar footage of the multiple rocket launch and suggested that the bug may be exclusive to the King Slayer Trios playlist.

The current theory is that the nuclear event is related to the ongoing Verdansk zombie outbreak. This would also track with a leak discovered last month the detailed “plague” mode coming to Warzone and that could be the final send-off for the Verdansk map.
At some point, the map will be bombarded to eradicate the threat of the undead, paving the way for a new Warzone map, with current leaks indicating a version of Verdansk themed from the 80s, dramatically altering many of its historical structures.
The new Call Of Duty map and the upcoming season are estimated to arrive on April 22, at which point those missiles will likely be much more lethal.
