When it comes to the Call of Duty franchise, possibly one of its most iconic aspects is its regular inclusions of the dedicated Zombies mode. But while it was reintroduced in a big way with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with its Dark Aether storyline and is getting a new open-world experience called Outbreak for season 2, Zombies has been conspicuously absent from Call of Duty: War Zone. war. It’s been almost a year since Battle Royale’s release and if this new leak is something to go through, the wait will finally be over soon.
It’s been the subject of rumors and alleged leaks multiple times in the past, but Dexerto may have uncovered undeniable evidence that Call of Duty: Warzone will get Zombies in a new update. According to Dexerto, a number of new challenges have been leaked and they explicitly mention zombies, requiring players to eliminate a certain number of specific ways (killing eight with a shotgun, for example).
Given its proximity to the launch of Season 2, it stands to reason that the Zombies update for Warzone is also included. It would make sense as it will coincide with the aforementioned Outbreak mode, which some players have already managed to start playing even though the Season 2 update is not over yet.
Warzone Zombies confirmed for Season 2?
These new challenges seem to indicate so! Maybe they’re arriving in that cargo ship 🤔 pic.twitter.com/EbLGnDVmmP

The question is how the Zombies will be incorporated into Warzone. Will zombies appear on the map as an obstacle for all players or will there be a separate mode / map specifically dedicated to them? One of the leaked challenges mentions killing eight zombies before the first circle closes, which could mean it will be the first, but fans won’t know for sure until Activision makes the announcement.
While both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War have been routinely targeted by certain parts of the player base for a multitude of reasons, such as recurring bugs and glitches, not dealing with cheats, and the implementation of League Play, War’s mode seems cold. Zombies are generally very popular. It’s no wonder then to see it make its way to Warzone in some way nor is it surprising that a new rumor claims that a future Call of Duty game will be entirely dedicated to the Zombies.
Hopefully, Season 2 as a whole will manage to address the issues mentioned above. Their announcement said that the update will come with several quality of life fixes and Warzone developer Raven Software has been issuing massive ban waves in recent weeks to weed out cheaters.
