The Polish studio will celebrate the first WitcherCon on July 9, the franchise that began as a series of novels will have a digital event that will reveal unpublished material from both the titles and the new Netflix series. It was also expected that there would be a teaser related to a new game, however, CDPR has confirmed that there will be no announcements of new titles at the convention.
In this way, they cut the wings of many players, although it is worth noting that there were never many possibilities. The situation with Cyberpunk 2077 should have the entire studio working on the game to offer the best experience from now on, in addition to designing and releasing free DLCs with which to vindicate themselves. So there shouldn’t have been too much time to design a new AAA game for The Witcher.
No hay The Witcher 4
“In case you’re wondering, no new The Witcher games will be announced at WitcherCon, but there are plenty of reasons to see it …” comment on the official website of the event. We could well simply resign ourselves to seeing material from the developers talking about what it was like to bring the saga to video games, as well as trailers for the Netflix series, but we can also read between the lines.
They mention that there will be no new game, but they already announced months ago that The Witcher III: Wild Hunt would receive a patch for the next gen in 2021. Again, they surely have been and still have their hands full for Cyberpunk 2077, but TW3 is a existing title and maybe if we can see more of this patch that is bigger than a simple update, or at least that’s what they promised.
In any case, if you are minimally interested in the franchise you should tune in on July 9 at 1 PM ET. Most likely that day the premiere date of the second season of the Netlfix series will be announced.
