When ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ came out in late 2020 it quickly became one of the most controversial games in the industry. The title was released with dozens of bugs that made it almost impossible to enjoy it on last generation consoles. This showed that CD Projekt Red put much more effort on the PC version than on home consoles.
Such was the negative impact of this launch that the image of the Polish studio fell apart and it was the victim of several class action lawsuits. In fact, PlayStation decided to remove the game from its PlayStation Store in December and as of this writing, it is still out of the store.
Now we know that CD Projekt Red confirmed that it is not willing to abandon ‘Cyberpunk 2077’. In fact, the studio is committed to fixing, improving and empowering the game for years to come.
“I don’t see the option of archiving Cyberpunk 2077. We are convinced that we can bring the game to such a state that we can be proud of it and therefore sell it successfully for years.”
Waiting for improvements
It should be remembered that Cyberpunk 2077 can currently be enjoyed on PS5, Xbox Xbox Series X / S and PC without major problems, which shows that the Polish study did not try hard enough on the PS4 and Xbox One versions. The truth is that the money invested in Cyberpunk 2077 and the eight years of development of the game that the Polish studio has no choice but to try to regain control of this game in order to see profits and even more importantly, regain the trust of fans who already they don’t trust the creators of The Witcher saga.
Users are still waiting for the arrival of new patches that will correct all these bugs. Currently the game is much better on PS4 and Xbox One, but users agree that it gives the impression that it can be broken at any time.
