In the spirit of generosity and holiday cheer, Monster Hunter has the perfect thing for hunters looking for a light-hearted break from the great "New World" quest. We have plenty of seasonal activities for hunters in both Monster Hunter: Earth and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, so grab a hot drink and listen to what we've in store!
If you are playing Monster Hunter: World (or are thinking of starting), now is a good time to join the hunt and participate in Winter Star Trek up at the Astera Gathering Hub. And if you are a Master Rank hunter on Iceborne (by the way, expand yet for sale for 25% off!), Holiday Joy Fest and wait for you at the Seliana Gathering Hub!
In both the Holiday Season and Holiday Joy Fest, you will receive some special seasonal rewards. The show's biggest star is the new Snowman, which is only available to Iceborne players. We took our new technology to provide new snow – developed specifically to showcase the dangerous atmosphere of the Hoarfrost Reach – and decided to use it… fun!
Here's how it works: as you enter and take part in the Holiday Joy festivities, you'll find The Snowman. Take this item to any place where you hunt and "build" a perfect snowflake with face, hat, holiday lights and even a scarf! Now the real fun begins when you and the other players in the quest climb to the snowman to collect the snow and… well, I think you know what you're going to do there.
Hint: aim with L2, throw in Square.
Download enough snow ball for the hunter or them and they will get a lame head for their snow. Give it a try … but just make sure there are no monsters nearby – they don't get the full sense of "fun" and don't hold their drawings.
And because the Holiday Joy fest is about bringing happiness with you wherever you go, you can put Snowman in other places as well, except in snowy places… including the Volcano region!
Enough about snowmobiles though … we have a few holiday things to talk about. If you're looking for a warm place, look no further than the Seliana Gathering Hub. Throughout the festival season, it will be completely decided on that event. And as always, you can create unique gear art. The costumes for this event are Oolong set for the hunters and the beautiful Shishi-mai outfit for the Palicoes.
Moreover, we too are small unique pieces of equipment that charge this season's event too:
- Mad Scavenger Pickaxe (Long Sword)
- Duffel Penguin Mask (Headgear)
- Integrated Leather Cloth (Headgear)
- Body Buff (Arms of Arm)
On top of all that, the third and final round of Horizon Zero Dawn: Frozen Wilds Interaction comes December 26th at 4h00 PST. Complete the "Firebreak" quest to perform the Banuk weapons mission, upgrade the Aloy's Bow to the Adept War Bow of the Master Rank and set the Master Rank Palico Watcher Set. The Banuk outfits are actually split into individual pieces so you can mix and match this with other game outfits.
So whether you're in a snowball fight with your hunters or fiery battles against monsters (by the way, Sieyiji Siege is also live until Jan 5! Now is the right time to say join the hunt.
Stay warm, and have fun hunting!
