Crytek announces a recently remastered collection of its popular Crysis Trilogy that is scheduled to release later this year.
Crysis is one of the biggest names in the first person shooter genre and is well known for its stunning visuals. So it seems fitting that developer Crytek has announced a remastered Crysis trilogy coming later this year.
Crytek recently released a remaster of the first game last year as an Epic Games Store exclusive for PC. Earlier this year, Crysis Remastered received an update to make it even better on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, while some PC fans have been wondering when the title will arrive on Steam. Crytek has made it clear, however, that it has more plans for the series in the near future.
Crytek teased a Crysis collection just a few days ago, and Crytek has now released a trailer confirming that a remastered trilogy is on the way. The trailer shows a lot of jungle-based action with lots of explosions adorned with a modern coat of paint. The remasters are led by Saber Interactive, the developers who directed the remastering of the first game. The trailer does say that the trilogy will come to PC, but does not clarify whether it will be an Epic Games Store exclusive or not.
In an official blog post announcing the release, Crytek detailed that the trilogy will include fully remastered versions of all three games, but did not elaborate on what exactly the remastered for the second and third games will include. The blog also said that players who already own Crysis Remastered will be able to purchase the remastered versions of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 separately to complete their trilogy. The blog post also didn’t give a more specific release date than the fall of this year. Exclusivity contracts on the Epic Games Store typically last around a year, so it seems possible that the release of the trilogy will also bring the original remaster to Steam for the first time.
Good to see that Crysis fans will be able to play the entire trilogy with updated graphics and compatibility on the new generation of consoles later this year. Many fans have wondered what Crytek has planned next for Crysis, so hopefully the remastered trilogy will be the start of more releases in the future. Hopefully, players will get more news on when exactly they can expect to get their hands on the remastered trilogy soon.
The Crysis Remastered Trilogy is scheduled to release this fall for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
