A supposed tester for the upcoming Ghost Of Tsushima expansion has just leaked some possible insider information about the new location on Iki Island. Sony and developer Sucker Punch Productions have teased the new expansion as part of Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut, a PlayStation 5 update to its critically acclaimed historical open-world adventure that promises to add new armor, minigames, and enemies to Jin. Sakai. quest to defend against an ancient Mongol invasion of the titular Japanese island.
Details on Ghost Of Tsushima’s Iki Island expansion have been slowly but surely progressing since it was first shown in a trailer for the Director’s Cut in early July. Players will be able to access the new location once the second act of the story begins, and Sucker Punch says that the Ghost of Tsushima’s Iki Island subplot will be integrated into the game’s main plot rather than being a completely separate side quest. . Now, someone claiming to have inside knowledge about the PS5’s newest port location is giving fans an idea of what to expect when Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut launches next month.
Reddit user QualityAssuranceTest posted a lengthy passage of text on the r / ghostofikishima subreddit on Monday, detailing his experience as a QA tester for developers like EA Sports, Naughty Dog, and Sucker Punch and sharing some supposed ideas on the upcoming expansion of Iki Island from Ghost Of Tsushima. According to the text, Iki Island will be located off the coast of Tsushima and will be roughly the size of the bottom of the mainland. The island is home to leopards, squirrels, and monkeys, and there is apparently an active volcano as well. Game-wise, 15-20 hours of gameplay will be added, with new enemies, shrines, charms, and even a kick-focused fighting stance to be included among the new content.
This is a quick summary of my background.
Quality assurance tester, partially disabled by ankylosing spondylitis. Fight Night Round 4 was my first experience with beta testing. I have worked for many prestigious companies in the gaming industry, including EA Sports, Naughty Dog, and Suckerpunch. In the past, I have been planning to join Reddit; now that I have some free time, I have decided to do it.
Despite not being a GOT beta tester, I am familiar with the game after spending countless hours in its immersive world. However, I did beta test GOT Ike Island and would like to share with you some of the details that I enjoyed.
The beautiful Iki Island is located off the coast of Tsushima. In terms of size, it is roughly the same as the bottom of Tsushima Island. Add new wildlife like leopards, squirrels, and monkeys to GOT thanks to its colorful landscapes. The island is also home to a volcano.
(For me) the expansion adds about 15-20 hours of gameplay. In general, I mostly stuck to the main quest line and did few side quests. It was a well thought out plot that kept me on the lookout for the next turn of events. Story-wise, I’d give Iki’s DLC 4.7 out of 5. It was interesting and in many ways better than the game’s main story.
Here’s an overview of what I remember being added to the game through this expansion.
New heavy armor sets. It’s not really my style, but I had to test everything for bugs.
Added a new medium grade armor that has both bow and melee perks. Unlike anything else in the game, this armor looked totally different.
A new light grade armor has been added. This hooded outfit reminded me of the old ninja shows my father used to watch when I was a kid. Stealth and bow damage were also provided with the armor. The outfit also gave Jin 25% faster attack speed when he used a sword or bow on it.
Now there are torches in the game. As part of the story, you will need this to complete a mission in a cave.
There are three new horse armor that can be colored.
Now there are dozens of new charms. Some fun ones that affect Jin’s appearance (they transform you into Lord Shimura, Young Jin and Ryuzo).
New sanctuaries
Rainbow added
New flute melodies
New enemies. New types of Mongols
New fighting stance. Tall companions, spinning head kicks along with jumping helicopter kicks are mixed with sword attacks in this style. Backflips and somersaults are the result of taking lateral and backward steps.
There are new updates for swords and bows. Damage improvements for swords and damage and range improvements for bows. Zoom function for Short Bow is now available after update. (the new short arc range is about half the long arc)
There will surely be some things that I missed. However, this is all I remember right now. I hope you enjoy the expansion, my friends.
Gamers and critics loved Ghost Of Tsushima when it released on the aging PlayStation 4 last July, and fans even planned special in-game events to mark its one-year anniversary. The Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut received similar excitement, though some are holding back over the fact that Sony will charge players who already own Ghost of Tsushima instead of offering a free PS5 update like it did with Spider-Man: Miles. Morales and The Last Of Us Part II. Still, Director’s Cut promises enough new features and additions to the now-classic Ghost Of Tsushima that others feel the extra price is guaranteed.
Given the currently uncertain nature of QualityAssuranceTest’s claims regarding the Iki Island expansion, all of this should probably be taken with a grain of salt until more official news is revealed. However, if these claims are true, Iki Island will bring a lot of new and interesting content when Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut arrives.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be available for PS5 on August 20, 2021
