Fall Guys versions of the Nintendo Switch and Xbox have been delayed to give developer Mediatonic time to implement Fall Guys cross-play support, among other new features.
Previously, the studio had intended to release Fall Guys’ Switch and Xbox ports (which is currently available on PlayStation and PC) sometime this summer. But later was bought by Epic, y Mediatonic wrote in a blog post
“While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we think the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth the wait and we are very grateful for your patience,” Mediatonic wrote. “This delay gives our team some time to add features like cross-play, so that when we add new platforms, players will be able to stumble in harmony with their friends, regardless of which platform they choose.”
While crossover play would be nice for people who want to play together on PlayStation and PC right now, it will naturally be a much bigger issue once two more console families join the show, so the timing certainly makes sense. there. As for the great new features we can expect from Fall Guys now that it’s part of the same family that includes Fortnite and Rocket League, Mediatonic is keeping their plans quiet for now.
