Hi all! With just two weeks away from the launch of FIFA 21 on PS5 on December 4th, we wanted to take the time to give you a special, in-depth look at the next level of EA Sports FIFA, as well as an exclusive look at how we use the incredible new DualSense wireless controller.
Welcome to FIFA 21 on PS5.
Next level gameplay
The new PlayStation 5 DualSense wireless controller is one of the things we can’t wait to see from you.
Whether you’re doing a last-minute block to save a certain goal or smashing one off the bar from outside the box, the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback responds to what’s happening on the pitch. With more control over the intensity and location of the haptic feedback, you’ll now feel things like powerful left kicks with vibrations to the left side of the controller, and more intense feedback from frontal tackles than when players scramble for position in turns or free kicks.
The DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers also allow us to increase trigger resistance as stamina is depleted, meaning you’ll feel the effects of player fatigue as their physical fitness decreases throughout the game. This is only available on PS5, and we are delighted that you are feeling the difference DualSense is making to FIFA 21, immersing you in the intensity of a match in a way that was not possible before.
Activity Cards are also exclusive to PS5 players, which allow you to switch to your preferred mode right from the PlayStation home screen. Combined with the super-fast load times provided by the power of the PS5, you’ll be able to participate in matches faster than ever before. We’re less than two seconds from the pre-game menu at a kick-off match. Sorry, pre-game practice arena fans!
Higher level visuals
More power also means that we can take a huge leap forward in visual quality to make players and stadiums even more beautiful.
A new delayed lighting system called LiveLight Rendering creates ultra-realistic football environments. You’ll see visually stunning recreations of the world’s greatest stadiums like Anfield and Parc des Princes that make them feel more alive than ever.
LiveLight Rendering also combines with wick-based muscle flexing and hair technology to bring players to incredible levels of detail and unlock our most detailed recreations of the world’s biggest stars like Kylian Mbappé and Trent Alexander-Arnold at this day!
A new game camera also gives you a new perspective. The EA Sports GameCam takes its inspiration from the look and feel of top footballing shows and makes a big difference in the game. We’re glad you try it.
Next level atmosphere
While we all miss being inside the stadium to watch our favorite teams and players, we know the amazing scenes and sounds that home and away fans create and that make football what it is. he is.
In FIFA 21, we put the football spectacle on the biggest stage to reflect the incredible atmospheres that the crowds have to offer.
First, PreMatch Live adds a slew of new cutscenes to increase your immersion for the day. You’ll see fans streaming through the turnstiles and more as it sets the stage for the most authentic match experience we’ve ever been able to deliver.
Second, we are now able to better reflect the incredible scenes that accompany a UEFA Champions League-winning goal or a relegation-saving equalizer. The new big goal moments mean you’ll now see the absolute stages in the stands and on the pitch after crucial goals.
Higher level simulation
FIFA 21 on PS5 also allows us to create the most natural movement and demeanor yet.
Responsive multi-touch animations take player movement to a new level of realism, improving the visual quality and responsiveness of tied ball animations, giving you more agility and control on the ball than ever before with over 700 new combinations of animations.
We’re even able to make players act even more realistically than in any previous EA Sports FIFA title thanks to off-ball humanization, with players exhibiting more human behavior like wiping sweat off their faces after a run, shout for a pass and win back. their breath after sprinting to make them feel really alive in FIFA 21 on PS5.
Double right
Finally, we are delighted to offer Double right with FIFA 21 on PlayStation, which means you can upgrade your copy of FIFA 21 from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 at no additional cost * anytime from December 4 until the launch of FIFA 22! You’ll also be carrying over all the progress you’ve made and content you’ve gained so far in FIFA Ultimate Team and Volta Football so you can continue to build that dream team and lead it on the streets when you move up to PS5.
From that jump in visual quality to getting you to matches faster and more, we’re thrilled with FIFA 21 on PS5 and hope you enjoyed some of the features that make every day more real.
We can’t wait for you to feel the next level when FIFA 21 releases on December 4th on PS5!
