Genshin Impact developer miHoYo will release its latest major update for the popular free video game, Version 1.3, later this week on February 3. Before that, he has shared a ton of different information about the upcoming events taking place in the new update, including the various posters where players can try their luck to attract new characters.
The largest of the events detailed in the new developer post, the “Lantern Rite” event, requires players to have reached Adventure Rank 23 before being eligible to participate. It begins on February 10 and runs until the end of the month. Fortunately, Adventure Rank 23 is not particularly difficult to achieve, as basically every player will want to participate, as miHoYo has stated that anyone who collects enough money from the event can finally exchange it for a 4-star character from the following list: “Exquisite delicacy.” Xiangling (Pyro), “Burning Riff” Xinyan (Pyro), “Crownless Lord of the Ocean” Beidou (Electro), “Eclipsing Star” Ningguang (Geo), “Juvenile Galant” Xingqiu (Hydro) or “Icy Burning” Chongyun ( Cryo).

There are several other events included in the official post that give more details, but in addition to the above, the other more important set of details is probably about the “May Fortune Find You” daily login event. Anyone logging in as of February 11 who is Adventure Rank 5 can get up to 10 interlocking fates, the most expensive digital currency required to place the limited-time gacha banners in the video game. Considering that the new character Xiao is set to appear on a banner that requires these trinkets, it’s a nice gift just for logging in.
Genshin Impact is currently available, free of charge, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices. The video game will also finally be released for Nintendo Switch. The version 1.2 update “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon” added a completely new area, characters, events and more. The Version 1.3 update is scheduled to release on February 3 and will be similar, although a new area will not be added this time.
