The recent official announcement revealed two new characters for the next update, and Genshin Impact fans are understandably excited.
The launch of the new Inazuma region has brought in several characters with ties to that region, with Gorou and Arataki Itto being the most recently announced. It seems like the story will return to the fan favorite region Liyue as both new characters Shenhe and Yun Jin are strongly related to this part of the map.
The Genshin Impact 2.4 beta phase has started, and there are already multiple leaks regarding future content, including the new region that fans refer to as Enkanomiya. Now, a credible leak on the Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit has revealed a video showing Shenhe battling a basic hilichurl.
Over the past few months, miHoYo has introduced an interesting pattern by revealing new characters even before the beta arrives, probably because the characters would leak on the first day of beta versions anyway. A recent leak on Reddit has apparently revealed much of Shenhe’s kit, which can be seen below.
- Elemental Blast: unleashes the power of Sealed Spirit, allowing it to roam and deal AoE Cryo damage. The spirit will leave a field effect that will decrease the cryogenic and physical resistances of the enemies in the field.
- Passive: When activating Shenhe’s elemental ability, her party members gain significant damage or a skill buff, depending on how it was activated (hold or tap).
- Elemental skill (touch): Allows Shenhe to lunge forward, dealing Cryo damage along the way, similar to Xiao’s ability.
- Elemental Skill (Tight): Deals AoE Cryo damage over a couple of seconds.
Previous leaks regarding his item have been confirmed by official art, as he will be a new character from Cryo. His weapon of choice will be the polearm and according to multiple leaks, he is expected to be one of the strongest sub-DPS characters in Genshin Impact. Shenhe will arrive alongside another Geo polearm character, the prestigious dancer Yun Jin.
It is very likely that both Shenhe and Yun Jin will appear in the same banner cycle, which is great news for players who want to get both of them. When it comes to the second banner, previous leaks have hinted that Xiao and Ganyu could go back to banners. This means that update 2.4 could have a similar pattern to its predecessor, containing two new characters for one loop and a double banner repeat for the other.
Genshin Impact is now available for mobile devices, PC, PS4 and PS5. The Switch version is in development.
