The launch of Genshin Impact’s new region, Inazuma, has brought several characters tied to that region, with Gorou and Arataki Itto being the most recently announced. It seems like the story will return to the fan favorite region Liyue as both new characters Shenhe and Yun Jin are strongly related to this part of the map.
New Genshin Impact characters create tones of exaggeration, and players in the later stages of the game often await their arrival. The Genshin Impact Twitter account has officially announced two new characters for the next update, and fans are understandably excited.
The beta phase of Genshin Impact 2.4 has started and there are already multiple leaks regarding future content, including the region that fans refer to as Enkanomiya. Now, a credible leak on the Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit has revealed a video showing Yun Jin battling a basic hilichurl.
For the past few months, miHoYo has revealed new characters even before the beta arrives, probably because the characters would be leaking on the first day of the beta versions anyway. A recent leak on Reddit has apparently revealed much of Yun Jin’s kit, which can be seen below.
- Elemental Blast: Yun Jin deals AoE geographic damage and applies the “Feiyun Flag” effect to all nearby party members. This effect increases damage output by the percentage of Yun Jin’s current Defense.
- Elemental skill (touch): allows Yun Jin to swing his polearm with force and cause geographic damage in the process.
- Elemental Skill (Tight): it is formed to protect with damage absorption that scales with Yun Jin’s max. HP. Shields effect is increased to 150% on all physical and elemental damage.
Yun Jin will be a Geo character, which surprised many Genshin Impact fans considering she was rumored to be a Vision of Anemo user. When it comes to his weirdness, there is no official information, but recent rumors hint that Yun Jin could be a four-star character.
It has the ability to boost the Defense Attack of team members, which means it could be a perfect fit for the popular Geo party. Yun Jin could be a cheaper four-star replacement for Zhongli, which means that he will have great synergy with upcoming characters Arataki Itto and Gorou. Adding another strong support character like Albedo could make this a viable Geo team composition.
Both Shenhe and Yun Jin are expected to be part of the same banner, which is great news for players planning to bet on both. When it comes to the other banner, there is no official information, but multiple leaks have hinted that it could be another repeat banner featuring Ganyu and Xiao. This means that update 2.4 could bring two new characters and a double banner replay.
Genshin Impact is now available for mobile devices, PC, PS4 and PS5. The Switch version is in development.
