Genshin Impact developer miHoYo shared a developer discussion today that covers a variety of topics, but most notably, it includes some details on an update to the title’s original resin system. In summary, as of version 1.3, the amount of original resin that players have access to should increase dramatically thanks to two specific changes. It is not a total solution by any means, but it is something.
If you’re unfamiliar in any way, the Original Resin system is basically the main limited-time resource in Genshin Impact. It updates over time, but there is a maximum amount that any player can retain at a time, and historically most, if not all of the endgame content, such as Ley Line Outcrops, Domains, and various events, have consumed large quantities. As you can imagine, this has been a point of frustration for many. But with the new update basically only the outcrops and ley line domains will still cost the original resin in the future.

“All events in Version 1.3 that do not require challenging Ley Line Outcrops or Domains will not consume Original Resin,” reads the developer’s response in part. “The vast majority of large-scale events in future versions will not consume Original Resin either.”
“The Battle Pass will be adjusted from version 1.3 to have additional brittle resin rewards,” continues the answer. Brittle resin is essentially a way to restore the original resin. “Sojourner’s Battle Pass and Gnostic Anthem will gain Fragile Resin × 1 for every 10 levels, starting at Level 5, replacing the Mystical Upgrade Ores that were originally there. This will not change the total amount of Mystical Upgrade Ore gained through BP. These Mystic Instead, the enhancement minerals will be distributed among other levels. “
