How to download and pre-install Genshin version 1.4
miHoYo announced the release time for the pre-install download of Genshin Impact version 1.4, Invitation of Windblume. The version 1.4 update pre-install will be available for all servers on March 14 at 11 PM ET.
For those in PT, this will be March 14 at 8 PM PT. Finally, in GMT, it will be on March 15 at 3 a.m. M. GMT. If you need time conversions for other time zones, Click here to see a table with various cities in the world. Just press Ctrl + F for yours.
What is pre-install, pre-download and how is it done for Genshin Impact 1.4?
This allows you to download and pre-install the resources required for the version 1.4 update, while still being able to play Genshin Impact. However, it will consume a certain amount of your bandwidth per installation, so it is possible to experience lags and slowdowns if your connection is not powerful enough.
When it’s time to pre-install, simply open the Genshin Impact Launcher and click the “Game Pre-Install” button at the bottom of the window. That way, when update 1.4 is released on March 17, you’ll simply have to update for a few minutes and you’re done, rather than downloading the update at that point.
Genshin Impact 1.4 will add several new items, including Hangouts Events or Dating Events. Where various four star characters will get their own multiple choice stories. For now, the implemented characters are Barbara, Bennett, Noelle, and Chongyun. Read all about Hangout Events here. 1.4 will also include banner reruns for Venti and Childe.

Genshin Impact is a free open world action JRPG, available on PC, PS4, PS5 via backward compatibility and mobile devices. The game was also announced on Switch, but it doesn’t have a release date yet.
