Genshin Impact developer miHoYo today revealed that the next Version 2.4 update, “Fleeting Iridescence,” will be officially released on January 5. As expected, the update will bring with it new characters and new outfits, as well as the new mystery area and the return of the Lantern Rite event and the previously destroyed Jade Chamber. In short, it appears to be a pretty robust update, all said.
More specifically, the Version 2.4 update will include two new polearm characters added to the playable roster in the form of Shenhe tuned to Cryo and Yun Jin tuned to Geo. As for the outfits, Ningguang will get the Gala Orchid outfit and Keqing will get the Lavish Grace outfit, which makes sense since the Lantern Rite is a Liyue event and they are both Liyue-based characters. Where the light barely reaches, a menacing shadow lurks.
In the realm of the eternal day, the last flame persists.

As for the new area added in Version 2.4, Enkanomiya is described as “the remains of an underwater nation that has been sealed for thousands of years beneath Inazuma.” It is a large floating island beneath the ocean that is constantly eroded by the Abyss that was once inhabited by the ancestors of those who now live on Watatsumi Island. It should be noted that the new area will have a day and night cycle thanks to its artificial sun, Dainichi Mikoshi.
As noted above, the next Genshin Impact version 2.4 update, “Fleeting Iridescence,” will be released on January 5, bringing new characters, missions, rewards, and more. The latest update for Genshin Impact, Version 2.3, “Shadows in the midst of snowstorms” is currently available. Genshin Impact itself is currently available, free of charge, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. The video game will also eventually release for the Nintendo Switch.
