Global interactive entertainment brand HoYoverse has announced the release of version 4.4 of Genshin Impact, titled “The Colors of Spring,” scheduled for January 31. In this update, Liyue will celebrate the annual Lantern Rite and expand to the northwest with the introduction of a new exploratory area called Chenyu Valley. Players will have the opportunity to obtain various rewards, such as 10 + 3 Intertwined Fates, a four-star Liyue character for free, and a new outfit for Xingchiu.
The Lantern Rite Festival, revamped with a kite theme, marks the welcome of another year of prosperity with generous rewards. Players will be able to participate in new story events, mini-games, and redeem items, including Xingchiu’s cool outfit. Additionally, during the limited-time Stacked Connection event, players can obtain up to 10 Intertwined Fates, and an additional 3 Intertwined Fates and 2 Weak Resins will be delivered via in-game mail. New outfits for Ganyu and Shenhe will also be released with temporary discounts in the in-game store.
With the arrival of the Teyvat New Year, Xianyun, the human form of an Adeptus known from previous stories, and Gaming, a young beast dance performer, will be added as playable characters. Xianyun, a five-star Cloud Preserver, uses an Anemo-powered catalyst. She can perform high jumps and double dash in the air, strengthening the jump height and Down Attacks of nearby teammates while restoring her own health. Gaming, the new four-star Pyro character, is a greatsword wielder who incorporates his beast dance into combat. In the promotional gachapons of version 4.4, Xianyun, Gaming and Nahida will be available in the first half, while Xiao and Yae Miko will return in the second half.
Chenyu Valley, the most recent expansion of the Liyue region, is a beautiful area with towering hills, waterfalls, prosperous villages, and mysterious stories of the Adeptus. Chiaoying Village is known for tea brewing passed down by the Adeptus, and to the west is Yilong Port, an important trade link connecting Fontaine with Liyue, notable for its notable water elevator.
Much of Chenyu Valley belongs to the wild, and with the blessing of an Adeptus, players will be able to transform into a special carp to fly and access previously inaccessible areas. During the journey, legendary beasts will roam the valley, including the formidable and mysterious “Hermit Suanni” who will appear as a boss.
Two important technical innovations will be introduced to better represent the Chenyu Valley with a touch of shan shui style. Global distant fog will allow fog and clouds to change density and direction next to mountains, taking into account elevation, terrain and other conditions. Additionally, the gradient dye rock feature will dye mountains cyan, green, or tan based on the height, viewing distance, rock texture characteristics, and structure of each mountain.
