Developer miHoyo has revealed the launch date and time for Yoimiya’s Genshin Impact banner for the new Pyro character this Tuesday, August 10, as well as more details about the “Golden Fire Tapestry” event.
The Genshin Impact Yoimiya banner launch time is 6:00 PM server time, which is 3 PM PST / 6 PM EST, and 5 PM BST for players in the UK and Europe. The event starts on August 10 and runs until August 31 at 2:59 PM Server / 11:59 AM PST / 2:59 PM EST / 1:59 PM BST, so it’s around three weeks to get the new five-star character, and will not be available on standard banner.

Kamisato Ayaka describes Yoimiya as the best pyrotechnic technician in Inazuma and is the owner of Naganohara Fireworks, the city’s local fireworks s tore. As a Pyro and Bow user, players are interested in seeing if he ends up closer to someone like Ganyu instead of Amber on our Genshin Impact tier list. Pyro characters like Diluc and Hu Tao often rank high on our tier list, but we’ll have to see what oddity Yoimiya ends up being to determine how good she actually is.

You can check out a short sneak peek at the character Mihoyo released in the lead up to this event. The banner also includes “huge” drop rate increases for the four-star characters Sayu (Anemo), Diona (Cryo), and Xinyan (Pyro). All of these characters, including Yoimiya, can be tested with fixed lineups in the new character test event.

The Yoimiya banner will be held in conjunction with the current Lost Riches event that started on Friday, where players team up with a Seelie in search of treasures to, um, hunt for treasures, which can then be redeemed in the Event Store for various rewards. However, you will need to be Rank 30 or higher and have completed the Archon mission “Ritou’s Escape Plan” to do this.
