A Ghost of Tsushima the film is in preparation! The idea of translating our game into a new medium is exciting and we are intrigued by the possibilities. We were all brought to tears in a movie theater surrounded by strangers. (Thank you very much, AND) We all went to see a movie on opening night when the crowd is so excited they are clapping as the lights go out. It’s a group experience that can’t be repeated anywhere else. To think that we could one day sit in the theater watching Jin Sakai on the big screen is amazing. We would all relive his tense Ghost transformation from a whole new perspective.
We are happy to partner with Sony Pictures to make this happen. And Jin is in very good hands with the director of the film. Chad Stahelski created something special with John wick. His vision for what could be, backed by years of experience, has combined to create some of the most beautiful action scenes ever. If anyone could bring the heightened tension of Jin’s katana fight to life, it’s Chad Stahelski.
Plus, I’m happy to say that we’ve sold over 6.5 million copies of Ghost of Tsushima now, and about half of those people have been successful throughout the game. Can you believe that? That’s about 3.25 million times that digital Mongols have been kicked out of digital Tsushima.
As the newly appointed Ambassador for the real Tsushima Island, I would like to officially say: visit when safe, if you get the chance.
