Following the incredible response from the PlayStation community to Godfall On PlayStation 5, the Counterplay Games team is excited to open up the world of Aperion to PlayStation 4 players. We are excited for the wider community to be able to experience all of the new content coming to the game, including the next chapter. of our history – Fire and darkness *, from August 10.
With additional allies joining our adventure, the Godfall community has plenty to do, including a free upgrade path to PS5 for all PS4 players, as well as the free Lightbringer update.. With the Lightbringer update, PS5 and PS4 players will now experience intergenerational cooperation and can use our new matchmaking beta to tackle our most difficult endgame content. On top of that, we’re introducing a new game mode, unique cosmetics, and even more loot! With all the refinements we’ve made, I thought it might be worth taking a moment to see how far Godfall is.
Last year we launched Godfall alongside the PS5 and have continued to refine the experience based on your extremely helpful feedback. With additions such as our important Primal update and quality of life updates, overhauled input buffering, new resource tools via Zenun, boss fight improvements, updates Tower of Trials level, Dreamstones, etc. The game has evolved beyond our wildest expectations and it’s all thanks to you.
Together we have faced and defeated the Mad God (budding) Macros, and are about to embark on an even more grueling journey into the Realm of Fire in Fire & Darkness. You will face new enemies as a devouring darkness threatens to spread throughout Aperion and suffocate the world in all light. Expect nothing less than fierce resistance as you enter the Realm of Fire. The Flameblood Tribe is one of Aperion’s most formidable enemies. They will stop at nothing to prevent you from reaching their leaders as they strive to fulfill Kosmera’s plans of old.
Need an even bigger challenge? The Lightbringer update, which is free to all players, introduces the all-new end-game Lightbringer mode for those who have reached level 50. The light of the Sanctum has been trapped, and the most powerful knights will be needed to free it and diffuse it, accumulating enough strength to face the consuming darkness.
The mode begins with you and up to two other friends charging into one of the realms of Aperion where a mysterious force has emerged and enveloped the land in darkness. You will need to seal Dark Tears in a race against time to allow the light of the Seventh Shrine to shine. Teamwork will be essential in surviving these threats – the beta matchmaking will serve you well.
We wanted to design a new combat experience in Godfall to test even our most seasoned players in exciting new ways. Lightbringer combines the best of what makes Godfall exciting. If you are successful in ridding Aperion of darkness, that feeling of overcoming intimidating obstacles and immense triumph will permeate every race.
Last but not least, we can’t forget the loot! The Lightbringer update introduces a new item level – Cursed Items. These weapons have devastating effects on the battlefield and will provide players with a huge boon if they lift the curse on the item and awaken its full potential. Be ready to venture into Dreamstones and face the enemies in the Ascended Tower of Trials to lift the curse. Additionally, the Lightbringer update adds over 50 new cosmetic skins for Valorplates to help you stand out from other Knights in matchmaking.
With all of these new additions, now is a great time for new and returning players to raise their arms together and take on Aperion’s foes.
