Daedalic Entertainment has released a new trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum in which Harald Riegler, Producer at Daedalic Entertainment, talks a bit more about the game that has been long overdue. The title starring Smeagol was going to arrive with the new generation but in the end we will receive it in 2022.
According to the Daedalic developers, they wanted to further polish the gaming experience, so now we will have to wait a long time to test this title that will focus on stealth. The studio wants to stay true to the JRR Tolkien story so Gollum will have a hard time sneaking around more than anything else.
Exploration of the antihero
In this trailer we saw him briefly moving through mountains, ledges, columns and other places where no one can see him. This goes well with what is read in the novels, since Gollum is rarely seen and is almost always hidden from the protagonists.
The trailer also showed the models of a couple of enemies, as well as Gandalf. So we will have to wait to see how they handle these narrative passages since Tolkien never addressed the “young” life of Gollum.
Daedalic thinks to use that narrative gap to focus the story of his game, so fans of the saga will at least be curious to see what they can tell us.
