Genshin Impact developer miHoYo may have released their biggest expansion to date with version 2.0, “The Still God and Eternal Euthymy,” update earlier this week, but it seems that the team is not content to fall asleep in the laurels. This morning it was announced that Aloy from Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn will be entering the world of Teyvat as a free special guest character during the next update, Version 2.1.
“A proven outcast, seeker, and hunter of the Nora tribe who saves life on Earth in Horizon Zero Dawn, Aloy will not hesitate to fight for a cause during her adventures in the world of Teyvat,” reads in part the press release from today. “In addition to his extraordinary archery abilities, he also acquired a Cryo Vision in this world and can wield unique elemental power in combat and exploration.”

All travelers with Adventure Rank 20 or higher will be able to obtain the exclusive 5 ★ character Aloy, “the Savior of Another World” (Cryo).

Aloy “The Savior of Another World” will be available for free to Genshin Impact players from version 2.1 with exclusive early access for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players. Anyone of Adventure rank 20 or higher can receive the character through in-game mail during that time on consoles. In version 2.2, all players will be able to obtain Aloy through in-game mail. Additionally, a free four-star bow with a special benefit for Aloy will be exclusive to PlayStation consoles during version 2.1 before being available to everyone else during version 2.2.
As noted above, Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy is set to join the Genshin Impact playable roster starting with the Version 2.1 update, although the update itself does not yet have a final release date. Genshin Impact version 2.0, “The Still God and Eternal Euthymy,” launched earlier this week and brought with it new characters, missions, and more for the popular video game. Genshin Impact itself is currently available, free of charge, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. The video game will also eventually release for the Nintendo Switch. The adventurer attuned to Cryo Kamisato Ayaka is available as the last character added to the video game in the most recent banner.
