Unreal Engine 5 was introduced yesterday by Epic Games with a live-action display running on PlayStation 5. Today we know a lot of details of this amazing demo, where new dynamic light techniques were not only advanced fighters, but also other important elements in the design of the environment and the characters are highlighted by proximity to Photorealism. The demo was working with some serious modifications to Sony's next console, though it's guaranteed plenty of time was running at 2K (1440p).
But as we always tell you, the current development engines are extremely fragile, able to work well to showcase the best of next-gen graphics, until they are converted to games designed for mobile devices only. In this case Epic Games confirmed that Inreal Engine 5 will not be the only PS5, Xbox Series X and PC compatible engine
A preview of Unreal Engine 5 in early 2021
When will this new engine arrive? It seems like many developers they will have this tool in early 2021, at least to the original version. Yes, the current version of the engine, Unreal Engine 4.25, in addition to being compatible with the current generation of consoles, is already compatible with the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. Epic works with compatibility before, so the channels can start their games Next Generation now on UE4 and then we submit your projects to UE5 when ready.
