Kingston has published a statement of press announcing up to 10 different RAMs that will arrive at the stores in the next days. The surprise is that, while DDR5 RAM sharpens its claws, Kingston has no problem continuing to release DDR3 models in 2021.
Let’s remember that the current standard is DDR4, it has been like this for at least 4 years, but that does not mean that there are no people with PCs before 2017. Most likely, these have DDR3 compatibility, so it is not a bad idea have models for these people. Of course, they are clearly the minority.
Memories of 2014
And Kingston seems to know it since the statement lists the excellent features of the DDR4 model and usually closes the paragraphs with: “DDR3 models available”. But it does not clarify whether these have the same optimizations and features, which we highly doubt.
Especially since the Kingston FURY Beast: Performance Unleashed comes equipped with 3773 Mhz and optimized with its times and latencies for current processors. The design company does not clarify the speed of DDR3 but it is most likely 1833, less than half that of DDR4.
For its part, the Kingston FURY Impact come with a model for laptops and another for desktop PCs with up to speeds of 3200 Mhz. In this section if they clarify that the DDR3 has a maximum speed of 1833 Mhz, the standard speed in 2014.
Finally, the FURY: Renegade were also announced which are expensive and that does not have a DDR3 version. The maximum speed is 5300 Mhz, making it one of the fastest on the market and they are sold in models that can reach an exaggerated 256 GB of RAM.
Everything announced comes with versions with RGB (aesthetic effects only) and a version without the lights, so Kingston has thought of all this time. Even the ones that still use DDR3 RAM.
