Aksys Games has confirmed the arrival from Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi to the West and announces a PlayStation 5 version that will arrive later than the other versions. The dungeon RPG debuted a year ago in Japan on Playstation 4, Xbox One and Switch, but at the time it was not expected to leave that territory.
Fortunately, this will be the case, and two more platforms, PC and PS5, are also joining. A new trailer was shared today that briefly reveals the narrative premise and shows off some gameplay. We are facing an RPG with 90s gameplay, so it is advisable to take a look at it before buying it blindly.
Dungeon Explorer
Especially since it is not like the RPGs that usually come from Japan. This is a dungeon crawler like the PC games of the 90s, that is, we see everything in the first person and explore an almost infinite maze. Around each corner we can get monsters that we must defeat using attacks per turn.
The funny thing is the premise. Tokyo, 1979, you are part of an elite team that must investigate a strange building that came out of the ground. When entering the place the exits are closed and you can only advance to find out what happens, and there the gameplay begins. A dungeon in the middle of a city is not very normal, so much of the narrative is driven by the desire to find out what happens.
Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi will be released on October 28, 2021 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (Steam). It will also have a PS5 edition that will arrive in 2022.
