‘What If…?’ has made it very clear to us that anything is possible in the Marvel multiverse, including killing all the Avengers even before Phil Coulson gave them a reason to join. Now, this same story could introduce us to a new group of heroes, following the introduction of new villains.
A recent theory claims that the Marvel animated series on Disney Plus will lead to the introduction of a new multiversal team very similar to the Avengers. But how and why would this happen?
If we go to the comics, in ‘What If…?’ # 39, by Roy Thomas, Gavin Curtis, Ian Akin and Ed Lazellari, the TVA, along with The Watcher, is in charge of uniting a team nicknamed the Titans Plucked by Time by uniting several members of different universes with the aim of fighting against one of the Variants of Kang the Conqueror, called Immortus.
The team included characters like Doctor Doom from Earth 772, to the vampire version of Wolverine from Earth-9250, Irondroid and Thor. Now, although these Titans were the means to an end, we believe that the MCU could take them as a starting point to bring the Avengers of the Multiverse to life.
In just three episodes, ‘What If…?’ He has already introduced us to some recruits, such as Captain Carter, T’Challa as Star Lord, and even Thanos, who has a new way of acting in this multiverse. Also, a possible villain in Hank Pym, who is the bearer of the Yellow Jacket and is against SHIELD, as he blames them for the death of his daughter.
As always, these are all theories, especially since there are three more episodes of the animated series missing, however, we admit that we would like to see what the world would be like with a new group of heroes, now that the ones we know are no longer an option.
