Konami is said to be working on relaunching several of its most successful licenses

As you may have already noticed, in recent years, Konami has moved away from the battle front completely in this video game, leaving some of its most legendary licenses in the closet. The only way the Japanese company continued to stay active was through its football simulator, Pro Evolution Soccer, which is certainly not at its best right now, with the disastrous launch of eFootball 2022.

However, according to multiple sources, it appears Konami could have decided to follow a different strategy, reviving some of its more well-known sagas, such as Metal Gear Solid or Castlevania. If at the beginning of the year there was already talk that it had been decided to entrust these licenses to studios outside Konami, there is now unconfirmed information from Andy Robinson of VGC.

The journalist specifies that Konami would have outsourced the development of Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake at the Virtuos studio, based in Singapore, with experience in ports and participating as a support team in blockbusters. As a result, the game is reportedly in its initial state of development for the time being, and to pave the way for its launch, Konami has reportedly planned to release remasters of other games in the series (remember that Konami has released several compilations already. HD from Metal Gear Solid on the PS3 generation).

On the other hand, it is suggested that Konami would have decided to also revive the Castlevania saga, but in this case with internal development supported by external studies. Konami’s intention is said to be to create a reimagining of the popular action platformer saga.
