There are video games that become emblematic within the industry even if you haven’t played them and this is the case with Minecraft from Mojang Studios. It became known, thanks to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, that Minecraft is about to reach 140 million monthly active players, which is impressive.
According to Nadella, between March 1 and March 31, almost 140 million active players will be reached within Minecraft, which represents a more than impressive figure for a game with more than 15 years of history. Nadella also reported that the percentage of players committed to the title exceeds 30%, an equally impressive number.
Another of the data revealed by Nadella that is more than interesting is the fact that the creators of content for Minecraft have generated more than 350 million dollars in downloads of mods and accessories for the title. This confirms that the game is still a gold mine that does not appear to be coming to an end.
Another successful year for Minecraft
The pandemic helped Minecraft like many other titles in the industry, but its creators have also tried to offer many new content that has kept the interest of the most loyal users of Minecraft. This year it is planned to receive the new update of the game called Caves and Cliffs, it will arrive divided into two parts due to all the content included and the desire not to overwhelm the players.
Regarding the income obtained, Microsoft also reported that the recently ended fiscal year left them profits of 41.7 billion dollars in revenue, which represents 19% more than the previous year.
The truth is that Minecraft continues to captivate users around the world and having the game on different platforms helps it a lot to continue gaining users.
