Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 multiplayer details revealed

Details, Modern, multiplayer, revealed, Warfare, Warzone

Attention all PlayStation gamers! Get ready for the next era of Call of Duty. During the Call of Duty: Next showcase event, new details emerged regarding the October 28 release of Modern Warfare II and the release later this year of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Both titles promise a multitude of innovations and advanced gameplay.

Let’s go over some of the newly revealed features, plus additional Modern Warfare II pre-order incentives exclusive to PlayStation.

Modern Warfare II Multiplayer Innovations

After years of development, Modern Warfare II has gone through many iterations, bringing a host of evolutionary changes in technology and design.

Swimming and water combat: Dive underwater to flank and attack enemies. With its increased density, water affects combat dynamics. Learn how to use handguns and certain equipment to achieve your aquatic goals.

Improved movement options: Glide or dive on the ground with a dolphin, providing more ways to get engaged. For vertical movements, use the ledge hook, allowing more freedom to explore your surroundings while climbing.

Use new vehicles: Pilot brand new vehicles like UTV, Light Tank, Heavy Helicopter, Tactical Vehicle and Rigid Inflatable Boat. Vehicles feature more interactive and destructible elements than ever before.

New Gear, Field Upgrades, and Perks: Test out new upgrades in the field like the Tactical Camera, Shock Stick, Drill Charge, DDoS, and Inflatable Lure. Equip new perk packs, featuring two base perks plus a bonus and ultimate perk that are earned in-match.

Gunsmith Weapon Platforms: Earn weapon platform attachments shared by all weapons on the same platform, as well as universal attachments shared by all relevant weapons.

New mods: Play Ground War and the new mixed player and AI Invasion, and experience new modes like Knockout, Prisoner Rescue and the new third-person playlist for a change of perspective.

Shooting range: Available at launch, the Firing Range is an offline proving ground with three firing lanes, ledges for the cloak, and multiple targets at varying ranges.

Special operations: Continue the story after the Modern Warfare II campaign ends in a branching co-op experience that lets you explore hotspots on a large scale with your teammate.

Raid: Arriving later this year after launch, Raids are a new experience for the franchise, a cooperative challenge requiring teamwork and strategy like never before.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Innovations

Prepare to roll out to Al Mazrah, the vast and meticulously crafted new map launched with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 as part of Modern Warfare II Season 1.

New modes of transportation: Along with using the new swimming mechanic, you’ll also have the chance to take control of over a dozen unique vehicles. Occupy gas stations and search for gas canisters to keep your fuel reserves topped up.

The shop: An upgraded buy station that lets you buy out teammates; buy gear like gas masks, killstreaks, and armor; and buy and upgrade weapons. You can also sell valuable loot for cash.

Reduce the circle: A storm gradually envelops the landscape of Al Mazrah. Expect variations from the traditional collapse, such as weather anomalies that split the safe zone into several zones before reconverging into a single safe zone.

The Gulag: Start with your fists, loot and fight in a multi-tiered 2v2 arena for a chance to get back on the map. Alternatively, eliminate the “jailer” and use his keys to escape.

AI Fighters and Fortresses: Test your skills as you attempt to conquer a fortress, with a high density of AI fighters ready to defend the loot inside.

Demilitarized zone: Take part in an all-new sandbox experience launched alongside Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Stay tuned for more information.
