NetherRealm has announced the Mortal Kombat 11 Klassic MK Movie Skin Pack release which is available right now and confirm new skins for Raiden, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade.
As the name suggests we can play with classic skins of the characters, the special thing about the pack is that the look of the characters is inspired by how they were seen in the first Mortal Kombat movie released in 1995 by New Line Cinema.
As if that weren’t enough, the voices of the original actors are back. Linden Ashby (Johnny Cage), Bridgette Wilson-Sampras (Sonya Blade) and Christopher Lambert (Raiden) substitute for the voices of these specific skins.
Pay separately
Reactions have been mostly positive via Ed Book’s Twitter account, but there have also been some complaints as these will be the first skins in the game to be sold separately in this way. Until now all content could be purchased for real money but there was always a virtual alternative in the crypt, a third-person game mode within the game.
This will not be the case, you have to buy them separately at a price of 6 dollars. In addition, the Ultimate Edition, which in theory would have all the DLCs, was released a week ago, so now the buyers of that version lack new content that could have been perfectly included in that edition.
On the other hand, the DLC as such has really liked the fans. The Mortal Kombat movie is a cult classic for many, it is not exactly the best movie in the world or of its genre, but one of the first to be inspired by a video game and its ironic tone won the hearts of gamers at the time.
In fact, we must remember that in a couple of months the reboot of the saga will arrive with a new cinematic universe, so we may also receive skins from that movie in the future.
Mortal Kombat 11 esta disponible en PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Stadia y PC.
