Battlefield 2042 is only a few weeks away from launch, and to build anticipation for the shooter, developer DICE has revealed a new multiplayer map. Located in Alang, India, the Discarded map looks like a unique location filled with interesting points of interest. There is a huge ship that collapses, a village that has been flooded, zip lines and what it SAYS calls a “good combination of aerial combat, vehicles and infantry.” Along with the announcement, DICE also released a short trailer, giving gamers an idea of what to expect when playing Discarded.
The trailer for the new map can be found in the Tweet below:

While the Battlefield franchise has a devoted fan base, it will be interesting to see how players react to the game when it launches. Responses to the above Tweet were a bit mixed, with some enjoying what was on display, while others noted their concern that it isn’t showing enough so close to the release date. There also seems to be a lot of concerns that Battlefield 2042 is trying to emulate the Call of Duty franchise, rather than stick ing to the elements that made the series a success in the first place. This could be seen when fans once again argued about the role that stuntmen will play in the new game.
Since its announcement, the role of specialists in Battlefield 2042 has generated a lot of controversy. The specialists have made great comparisons with the operators of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. In fact, a report by Tom Henderson, an industry insider, stated last month that his presence in the game was one of multiple attempts by management to align him more with the Activision shooter. It’s impossible to say how the game will play out, but fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out for themselves!
Battlefield 2042 will be released on November 19 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC. Are you looking forward to Battlefield 2042? What do you think of this preview of the new map of the game? Let us know in the comments.
