A new Call of Duty: Warzone map could be on the way according to multiple leaks.
The reputable site Modern Warzone Warzone / Black Ops Cold War has released snippets of information, reporting that the Call of Duty: Warzone map will receive several new POIs at some point in the near future. First off, Modern Warzone reports that a new POI on the revised Warzone map will be called Zoo and it could be a remastering of an original Black Ops map.
Second, Modern Warzone claims that an additional POI on the new Warzone map will be called Weather Station. Because the closest point of interest on the revised map is the Sky Slopes location, which we know to be the Fireteam map called Alpine from Black Ops Cold War, this could be a remaster of the Summit map from the original Black Ops.
Finally, the new Warzone map is supposedly based on an 8 × 8 grid, based on information provided by Modern Warzone. It should be noted that although the current map of Verdansk is based on a 9 × 9 grid, only 6 × 7 of the map grids can be reproduced.
In short, it looks like there will be a lot of changes to the Warzone map at some point in the near future, if Modern Warzone reports are to be believed. All of these changes and revisions to the Warzone map would certainly help bring the Battle Royale game to life, as publisher Activision previously said Black Ops Cold War would do after its release.
