For the first time in Call of Duty history, Treyarch’s Zombies mode will be available for free during Free Zombie Access week. This free access period will be available to all players through PlayStation Store and includes the following game modes:
Crank Zombies
Need a Zombies experience with a little more urgency? Then try Cranked Zombies.
Just like in regular Die Maschine, you will be airlifted with a weapon of your choice in a loadout. However, once the first Zombie hits the ground, the clock starts ticking. Your operator will automatically crash if he fails to kill another zombie within a short period of time.
Watch the clock – and your six – to survive this fast-paced variation on the traditional Zombies game mode.
Onslaught (PlayStation exclusive *)
Those with a PlayStation can access Onslaught, a fast-paced, two-player zombie experience on Black Ops Cold War multiplayer maps.
In this mode, your duo will use your loadouts to fight against hyper-aggressive waves of dead forces. Unlike traditional zombies, a Dark Aether Orb will confine you to a specific space on the map until charged by the souls of the living dead.
As the safe zone changes, expect waves of increasingly difficult enemies, including insanely powerful elites, to test your duo’s survival skills. Kill enough of these elites and you’ll earn special medals and exclusive weapon blueprints *.
The machine
An abandoned Polish lab containing a massive particle collider has opened a rift in one dimension that contains inexplicable monstrosities and undead forces. As part of the international faction known as the Requiem, you will infiltrate and attempt to survive through waves of zombies through multiple rounds by uncovering the secrets of Die Maschine or exfiltrating early with your life intact (and great rewards to boot).
Based on the original Zombies map Nacht der Untoten, Die Maschine is the classic Zombies experience where up to four Operators can show up and attempt to survive the horrors that lie ahead. Work together using dozens of weapons, lethal and tactical pieces of equipment, Shock and Awe causing Scorestreaks and field upgrades, special loadout items such as an Energy Mine or a Instant heal thanks to the healing aura that recharges after killing zombies.
Have you unlocked any Black Ops Cold War weapons while playing Warzone? Bring them into combat with your starting loadout and upgrade them along the way with Salvage dropped by the zombies. You can also equip a variety of wall-mounted weapons, try your luck with a random weapon from the mystery box, or give any weapon a serious boost with the Pack-a-Punch machine.
And to those diehard zombies who have enjoyed these modes since their launch, know that the Dark Aether storyline is far from over …
