The strongest fighters return once more. ‘Ikkitousen’ announces a return to the Japanese small screen with the anime adaptation of its spinoff manga ‘Shin Ikkitousen’.
The announcement was posted this Friday via the original anime’s official Twitter account, enthusing fans who accompanied Sonsaku and Shuyu in 2003.
In addition to the good news, the statement is accompanied by a promotional image that contains the logo of the series, which reads the word ‘Shin Ikkitousen’ written in Japanese and romaji and confirms its premiere in 2022.

Official synopsis of Ikkitousen
In Ikkitousen, the Kanto region of Japan is caught in the middle of a turf war between seven different high schools. Among the students of these schools there are a few who are in possession of sacred beads. These magatama house the souls of warriors who fought during the Three Kingdoms Era of Chinese history. These students are not only blessed with abilities that are based on the souls to which they are bound, but they are also blessed, or perhaps cursed, with the fate of these warriors from the past.
One of these students is Hakufu Sonsaku; a young, loving and silly girl who has recently transferred to Nanyo Academy and will live with her cousin, Koukin Shuyu. Hakufu’s arrival creates an almost immediate sense of tension due to her power as a fighter and the possibility that she may be the one who carries the spirit of the Chinese warlord, Sun Ce. Nanyo’s most powerful fighters, known as “The Four Greats ”are moved by her presence and determined to prevent Hakufu from achieving the goal her mother gave her: to conquer those who challenge her and unite the seven schools.
