We’re excited to show you more about NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, the predecessor of NieR: Automata, where you’ll follow the journey of a young man on the quest to cure his sister of a deadly disease. During your adventure, which has different endings over the course of several parts, you will have many memorable encounters with an unlikely cast of characters, including Grimoire Weiss, a mysterious talking book with a somewhat arrogant demeanor, and Kainé, a fierce fighter. with a fierce mouth.
Speaking of Grimoire Weiss, Square Enix has teamed up with the PlayStation team for a new episode of PlayStation Underground with the detailed tome. Watch below for a new installment of NieR Replicant gameplay:
The original version, titled NIER (also known as NieR Gestalt in Japan), was released in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and became a cult hit thanks to its unique setting, engaging storytelling, and exceptional soundtrack. It was followed in 2017 by NieR: Automata for PlayStation 4, which quickly gained critical acclaim thanks to its fluid combat and stunning storytelling. With the success of NieR: Automata, we are happy to bring you an improved version of NieR Replicant (the 2010 version that was previously only released in Japan), so that you can experience the original story with reimagined combat, enhanced visuals, newly recorded voiceovers with much of the original cast, rearranged and re-recorded soundtrack, and more.
Perfect fight NieR-ly
The original version was pra ised for its story and music, but we’re taking that to the next level by improving combat. In NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… you will face a variety of enemy shadows, which are weak in sunlight, as well as large bosses shrouded in mystery.
Combat has been redesigned to feel more lively, refined and fluid than before, to deliver a more NieR: Automata experience. In combat, you can use combos, mixing your light and heavy attacks. There are also active dodges, counters, and parries, which will help you stagger enemies and make them more vulnerable to damage. Try to mix these tactics together to find your favorite style to send out nuances.
A unique feature, and the difference from NieR: Automata, is the ability to use magic in this world. Grimoire Weiss, a magical tome that joins your team, gradually unlocks Sealed Verses (aka powerful and flashy magical spells) as you progress. While not only providing great jokes, it also helps in combat with a variety of ranged combat options, which are especially useful when you’re busy dodging mad and bullet attacks. Skills like Dark Lance help take down enemies, so you can get in close and finish them off with physical attacks. Sealed Verses use your magic gauge, but spells like Dark Blast don’t drain your gauge as quickly as it recharges, so you can use it in extended bursts to protect yourself from enemy projectiles. You can have two magical abilities equipped at once, so don’t be afraid to mix them up to find your ideal fighting style.
Of course, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… also includes changes in perspective and different game genres that fans of the series have come to expect – from hack-and-slash to side-scrolling platform to hell. ball and more. And for those who want to focus on the story or take a break from subsequent games, we’ve also included Auto Battle Mode, which can be turned on and off with just the push of a button. This is available on the simplest difficulty mode, and is comparable to the same function in NieR: Automata.
More than just a remaster
Whether you’ve played the original or are completely new to the series, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is the best way to get started and experience an amazing world and characters, while enjoying significant improvements to the game. story and gameplay and more.
