Hello PlayStation community, at Ubisoft we are so excited today to be able to bring you the latest details on what we will bring to your favorite team tactical action game for the next generation.
Finally, we can say that a native PS5 version of Rainbow Six Siege will be available on December 1, with the kickoff of Season 4 of Year 5! We’re excited to share more information on an enhanced Rainbow Six experience for all PS5 players.
Graphics and performance on PS5
PS5 players will be able to experience the excitement of Rainbow Six Siege with the highest graphics enhancements the game has to offer on consoles. These improvements will provide several options for prioritizing performance or resolution, with players with a compatible device:
- Performance Mode: 120 fps lens with dynamic 4k resolution scaling
- Resolution mode: Target 60 fps with 4k resolution
- Support for activity card for Ranked, Unranked, Newcomers, Quick Matches, and Events so players can dive into the game faster
The graphics power of the PlayStation 5 allows for better lighting and improvements in depth of field, especially at long distances. Get ready to literally see your favorite card in a whole new light and discover new levels of detail.
Performance Mode, which targets 120 frames per second, makes Siege play smoother than ever. Siege’s stable FPS even withstands incredible stress, like breaching charges that cause destructive explosions. Upgrades to 120 fps are dependent on your TV, so take a look at these details to get the most out of the game.
Thanks to the PS5’s SSD, gamers can get into the game faster than before and start playing. Card loading time has never been shorter, allowing you to quickly go from selecting your operator to the preparation phase.
DualSense wireless controller
However, the Rainbow Six Siege PS5 experience isn’t just about visual enhancements. The development team adopted the new DualSense wireless controller, with its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, for better immersion and improved reflexes in high-stakes shootouts.
Using the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers, pressing the R2 trigger emulates the resistance of a real trigger, providing a unique feel for every class of weapon and shooting gadget. For example, Adaptive Trigger Resistance is light and quick for pistols, and heavier for larger, powerful weapons like light machine guns. Players will also be able to feel the difference between a single shot and fully automatic operation for total immersion.
Plus, thanks to haptic feedback, players will feel an impact like never before. Dynamic and immersive, the haptic feedback reacts with the environment. Weapons, explosions, gadgets, etc. will deliver information directly into the hands of the player.
Transition to PS5
If you currently own a copy of Rainbow Six Siege on PS4 and plan to acquire a PS5, you will be able to upgrade your game at no additional cost. All players will be able to keep their progress and game elements when transitioning between consoles. Owners of physical game copies can only upgrade at no additional cost if they have a PlayStation 5 console with a disc drive.
Cross-play is also available for players playing on PS4 and PS5, and they will be able to compete against each other whether playing on PS4 or PS5.
Don’t miss the immersive power that the PS5 offers with 120 fps, 4K resolution, faster charging, and immersive DualSense controller features. Join the Rainbow Six team on PS5 on December 1, and get ready to enjoy more updates in the future.
