Hi there! 2019 has been an important year for No Man & # 39; s Sky on the PlayStation. It was the year we brought every game in PS VR and added a lot of multiplayer to the free Beyond update. Anyone who had a game all night was able to play the whole game genuinely and it's been great to see VR and non-VR players joining Nexus to investigate, launch on the go, and build bases together.
We have tracked over two content updates over the past year, Synthesis and Bytebeat, and we are starting in 2020 as we mean to continue the free release – the Living Ship update – releases today.
The Living Ship Update introduces the first new star from Atlas Rises. But this is more than just a ship – these are unique and beautiful creatures with their own lives. A new series of breakthroughs will take players through classic Korvax research that led to the birth of these interrelated creatures. Players who wish to move, grow, and eventually fly their live ship must visit Space Anomaly and follow the Void Egg Call…
These beautiful, organic, mind-boggling ships have grown differently (and, like everything else in No Man & # 39; s Sky, made in a certain way) .They cannot be developed in the same way as a traditional ship: each one is captured, a unique set of internal organs that determine its capabilities. If you want a fast hyperdrive, you'll need to develop the right kind of life aboard your ship…
Much attention has been given to the ship's interior as the exterior. Empty vessels are housed within unusual breaks, which require players to fly their ship by holding the veins covered by the vein. It looks and feels inappropriate for VR flying!
The Living Ship update also brings a host of discoveries to the deep space, adding an all-new space experience and experience to the outer planet. New life situations and complexities now wait between planets, bringing variety and unique experiences to space travel.
You may have noticed that since the start of the campaign we have been trying something new. We have been releasing regular feature updates every month or more, as well as weekly social activity and new content.
Over the years we have focused on the team around one major update. We were really proud of the work we did on these great revivals like Next or Beyond, but the thing that always bothered us… was usually eight months or so in silence, and the community was left wondering if we would review the game again! At that time there were little things that were right before, but they had to wait until all the other work they had threatened had been completed.
While we continue to work on larger, longer-running products in the background, we are still trying to get out content that we know the public will enjoy as soon as we can.
We enjoy these regular updates, and the community is very grateful. This January had more players on all platforms than any previous year, and the average player enjoys long and varied times across the board. We hope people will enjoy the surprise of the Living Ships update again.
We hope that the PS4 players are enjoying the new update, and hopefully it is the first of many by 2020.
Our journey continues.
