The benefits of the DualSense Wireless Controller are obvious given a typical scenario for an experienced ranger. The improved haptics emulate the power that flows through the arc. Adaptive triggers transmit tension to the string when it reaches its maximum power. The return of a fatal blow to the player by a satisfying impulse. The reverberation of an explosive arrow fired at a crowd of enemies. These are just a few of the perks for those who play Hood: Outlaws & Legends on PS5 as it enhances the experience of playing as a Master Archer, but many other areas of the game have also been augmented with new features. new features.
A Deep New Look At Hood’s Intense Gameplay: Outlaws & Legends
Ready for battle
As stamina decreases in melee combat, the resistance on the trigger increases to signify tension and reduces the effectiveness of the action’s execution. This is in addition to receiving incoming impacts and dealing damage to enemies, both signified by haptics. The former is very aggressive, helping to transmit the sharp blow of an arrow or the crushing blow of a hammer taken during an enemy encounter. On the other hand, the latter is more moderate, a satisfactory drum accompanies positive actions such as landing with a blow, the intensity of which correlates with the damage inflicted. These approaches help players focus on the intended target or incoming danger by providing them with an extra layer of feedback and reducing the need to look elsewhere for a status update.
Character actions
The DualSense controller also helps ground players navigate the world. When transitioning to a slide after the sprint, the coarse gravel that litter much of the world collides with the player as he struggles to return to a stealth position. This contrasts with the fall from a height which penalizes such an action by a loud thud, reinforcing the damage suffered during a hard landing. Doors, on the other hand, are environmental blockers that can be hooked up or opened by barge. Depending on a given character’s approach, enhanced haptics either reinforce or suppress the interaction with consequent feedback.
For individuality, there is a signifier to convey when each of the character’s playable abilities have been triggered. Due to their low frequency of activation, this further amplifies their personality and their unique appeal to each playing role. In the case of The Brawler however, a mountain man of character, he is also able to lift and support the weight of a harrow, used to bypass fenders. The DualSense controller supports the unparalleled strength and power needed to achieve such a feat that synergizes with the interaction.
Rob the rich
The predominant goal of the game, however, is to escape with the riches found in a multitude of fortified buildings. The sheriff, a patrol warden capable of executions, carries the key to the treasure chest, and his position in the world is randomized. However, thanks to the DualSense controller, the task of locating it is a bit easier due to the directional haptics that transmits its steps, the strength of which increases when it is nearby. This allows teams to both avoid the significant threat it poses and define their approach when acquiring the key.
Once the safe is accessible, the treasure chest should be slowly transported to the extraction area. The lens wearer is overloaded due to the excessive amounts of gold found inside and alternating steps pound on either side of the DualSense controller in sync with the movement. When the treasure chest is dropped, the nearby scatter of gold dissipates into the player’s hand, leaving them to think about what could have been earned.
After successfully depositing the chest on the winch, our interpretation of a medieval escape device, the player is instructed to crank a handle to extract. What begins with a subtle hum in the player’s hands quickly transforms into a rattle that wobbles with the crank as it spins at a breakneck pace, further adding to the tension and panic of a daring escape.
Working on the game in tandem with the DualSense Wireless Controller has been a fantastic experience and we hope you will feel the benefits right out of the gate.
