Upon reflection, however, it is clear that we made the wrong decision here. So I’m happy to say today that we’re going to keep the PlayStation Store up and running for PS3 and PS Vita devices. The PSP commerce feature will retire on July 2, 2021 as scheduled.
When we made the decision to end the purchase of support for PS3 and PS Vita, it arose out of a number of factors, including the challenges of business support for older devices and the ability for us to focus. more our resources on new the majority of our players continue to play. We now see that many of you are incredibly passionate about being able to continue purchasing classic games on PS3 and PS Vita for the foreseeable future, so I’m glad we were able to find a solution to continue operations.
