Sony has updated its publisher website on Steam and now we can see how it went from being called “PlayStation Mobile” to “PlayStation Studios”. In other words, the company’s titles go from being published through a small brand to the official one that produces and designs games for PS4 and PS5.
This doesn’t sound like a big deal, but the back of this website has changed a lot in the last few months, so it looks like Sony is gearing up for a big Steam-related announcement. At least the evidence points towards this, although, as is often the case with these leaks, they are best taken with a grain of salt.
Expectations of exclusives
And it is that this publisher’s website lists 41 games from the studio for Steam, however, we can see that of those 41 there are only 22 available. This includes entire titles and DLCs, so there are at least 19 PlayStation Studios products to be officially announced. Recall that Jim Ryan had already announced it a few months ago, so it seems that the time to launch PS4 games on PC is near.
Right now the studio offers four complete games: Helldivers Dive Harder Edition, Predators: Hunting Grounds, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Days Gone (out between now and tomorrow). Most of the DLCs are from the Predator game and these are the ones that bring the number to those 22 available.
For its part, PlayStation Studios already has 17,000 followers on Steam, so there are clearly expectations. Sony, Xbox and Nintendo have always built on console exclusives, but for a while Xbox has opened up to PC (via Microsoft Windows 10), while Sony does the same little by little. For its part, Nintendo remains just as hermetic.
Rumors indicate that after Days Gone will come Bloodbrone, Ghost of Tsushima and God of War, which would not be bad for PC users.
