PS VR FPS Fracked adventure hits the slopes this summer – iGamesNews

We’re extremely excited to finally be able to share an expanded gameplay reveal for our upcoming action-adventure title, Fracked. Grab your PlayStation Move controllers and watch the trailer below:

In this reveal, we wanted to show what Fracked does best – smooth, fast-paced action and adventure gameplay, which will be experienced on foot, skiing and climbing. Fracked equips you with an interactive arsenal, as well as special weapons, giving you the tools to step into the shoes of an action hero.

Let me take you through some of the finer details of the game personally, as shown throughout the trailer!

Freedom of movement

Fracking is not an experiment on rails. You’ll be able to move freely (with 1: 1 accuracy) throughout the level, whether on foot, climbing, ziplining, or skiing down a mountain. The smooth action also gives you cover fire mechanics, giving you the freedom to intuitively grab environmental objects and use them to your advantage. Movement on foot is both instinctive and rapid. Point your PlayStation Move controller in the direction you wish to travel (there is absolutely no teleportation here).

Interactive and special weapons

Yes, there is a shotgun! This powerful gun is just one of the special weapons that will help you take on the hive of interdimensional enemies infesting the mountain fracking community. You will also have noticed the SMG, which requires you to grab a new magazine and cock the weapon to fire (just like our pistol). This immersive mechanic not only helps you feel the action, but it also adds a new dimension to the shooter. You’ll need to think on your feet and make every bullet count as you tactically hide.

Become a hero

With Fracked, we wanted to deliver the ultimate power fantasy of playing a movie action hero. While this is largely directly related to the gameplay and interactions you undertake; we have made the bold decision to provide you with a voice protagonist, providing a role playing experience where you can to become the hero by entering the role. Not only that, but as a former Special Forces hero in Fracked, you won’t go it alone – you have reinforcements! Rosalez will be your perfect foil, an eco-warrior with a colorful personality and witty charm. She’s a companion you can count on when the bullets start flying.

Sky is the limit

With a lot of video game experiences (even in VR), you’re stuck on a flat plane of existence… they’re often stationary with little lateral movement in 3D space. With Fracked, we wanted to offer something more, a game that shows the verticality of the virtual environment. Levels and the world were designed with this in mind, throwing you in the midst of towering mountains, craggy ski slopes, bottomless mine shafts, and towering corrugated steel behemoths of industry. On foot, you’ll run, climb, and zipline through each level, all in one smooth, action-oriented experience. We want to push virtual reality to new heights… forgive the pun.

We are all fractured

The section you saw is a very small part of the overall game. Everything you see during your Fracked mission can be visited, along with your experience on (and below) a singular mountain in the Alaskan wilderness. In this extended gameplay trailer, we’ve given you a taste of what to expect, including a quick peek at the Blaster, a towering brute you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark alley.

We can’t wait to show you more of Fracked and finally get your hands on this PS VR exclusive this summer! Let us know in the comments what you’re most excited about.
