In June 2020, Activision filed an application to register trademarks with the United States Patent Office. Call of Duty: Warzone Y Warzone in relation to his shooting games. They believed that it was a matter that would be resolved quickly, but it was not like that and that has them in a new legal mess.
It turns out that the popular free ‘battle royale’ isn’t the only game calledWarzone
Activision responded as they usually do: with a lawsuit. The warzone.com website now includes a message about it.
According to Activision, the differences between Call of Duty: Warzone and the browser game are so deep that there is no room for confusion among consumers. They also allege that there are at least 15 mobile games that also use the word ‘warzone’ in their titles.
In their lawsuit, the huge company demands not only that they be allowed to terminate their trademark registration, but that warzone.com reimburse them for the legal expenses they have incurred due to this matter.
Let’s hope Activision doesn’t use these expenses as an excuse to fire more people
