Those who keep an eye on the world of independent games know that the CD Projekt Red game was not the only ‘cyberpunk’ aesthetic title that was due to come out in December 2020. Last August, the Lightning Games studio announced via the PlayStation State of Play presentation a very striking game. His name is THE YEAR: change and it was going to go on sale this month, but its release date has been postponed.
This was revealed in a statement posted on the study’s official Twitter account.
Lightning Games begins by apologizing and reveals that the new release date of THE YEAR: change It will be in the third quarter of 2021. This is a considerable postponement, but they say it is necessary to improve the experience of the game and optimize the version for PS5.
This is an action-adventure game with exploration sections that will be set on a three-dimensional plane and combat sections that will unfold on a horizontal plane. This gives it a pretty eye-catching visual style.
See how far off the new release date is from THE YEAR: change makes us sad, because we really wanted to try this title. Despite that, it’s good to know that there is at least one team concerned enough about the quality of their ‘cyberpunk’ game to postpone its release date until it’s actually ready for the public.
