Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the latest game in the series created by Ubisoft. Within this vast Viking world are multiple Easter eggs that reference other representatives of games and pop culture. Among these, there is a curious nod to the immensely popular MOBA League of Legends.
Jared Rosen, Head of Narrative and Skin Development at Riot Games shared a short clip in which he references one of the many LOL champions. The clip shows Eivor hunting a wild boar with a minor character named Birstan. In a moment of silence, the two characters begin to converse, with Birstan describing the virtue of the powerful prey they are hunting.
Eivor replies saying: “I once met a mighty squire who rode on a boar into battle. She called him Bristle. “
Fans of League of Legends they would grasp this description in less than a blink of an eye. Eivor is referring to the fearsome Sejuani, a warrior queen who fights on the back of a Druvask, a war pig from Runeterra, which goes by the name of Bristle. According to the game’s story, Sejuani resides in the Frejlord region, a region of ice and snow that is home to various characters inspired by Norse mythology and Viking societies.
Although it seems like a coincidence, Samantha Webb – a writer and narrative designer at Ubisoft – confirmed the Easter egg by saying that someone had finally found it.
Players have discovered various pop culture nods in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, from The Lord of the rings, until the current pandemic.
