The iconic yellow color that accompanies the official information about Cyberpunk 2077 He refilled our notifications on the afternoon of January 13th. This time it was because CD Projekt Red, the Polish studio that developed this controversial title, published a very special video.
In this statement, Marcin Iwiński – co-founder of the studio – apologizes to all players for the state of Cyberpunk 2077. It tries to explain why there are so many problems and shows a new “roadmap” to fix the game and release its downloadable content.
Iwiński says that all the blame for the problems should fall on the managers of the company and not on the development teams that did the best they could with the game. However, he also says that the quality analysis (QA) team did not discover most of the problems that players encountered. That was highly criticized by the community in the original tweet responses.
He adds that the large number of bugs in the versions of old-generation consoles are due to the fact that they believed that they could prioritize the PC version and then adjust the results for PS4 and Xbox One, something that was more difficult than they expected.
He also talked about the future of the game. Iwinski says the next big patch for Cyberpunk 2077
Some were upset that the video did not comment on the cases of ‘crunch’ (compulsory overtime) suffered by the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 and they did not apologize to their employees for it. However, they did talk about this in a companion article
Could it be that this time they are telling the truth?
