CD Projekt Red proudly presented a first look at The Witcher 4the first game of the new saga Witcherat The Game Awards 2024. The nearly six-minute trailer offers a first look at Ciri – the adopted daughter of Geralt of Rivia – as the protagonist, who accepts a contract as a witcher in a remote village terrorized for generations by a monster that demands sacrifices rituals. The Witcher 4 is being developed using custom Unreal Engine 5 technology. The cinematic trailer is pre-rendered in a custom build of Unreal Engine 5 on an unannounced NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU.
The Witcher 4the sequel to one of the most acclaimed role-playing games of all time, aims to be the game of Witcher in the most immersive and ambitious open world to date. The game, successor to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (considered one of the most acclaimed games of all time), marks the beginning of a new saga of The Witcher with Ciri taking on the role of protagonist.
Framed as a short, standalone story of The Witcherthe trailer shows off Ciri's new abilities and tools, including a chain and advanced magical powers.
At the center of the trailer is Ciri's perspective as an outsider in the village. As the villagers say goodbye to one of their own, a girl they are preparing for a traditional ritual sacrifice, Ciri decides to intervene. Aiming to kill the beast and save the girl at the same time, Ciri finds herself at odds with the prejudices and superstitions of the people she is trying to protect, leading her to face a painful lesson in witchcraft: that the Monsters come in all forms.
This trailer, which uses the same technology that was used in The Witcher 4aims to offer players a cinematic vision of the type of experience the game aspires to offer. The trailer was created thanks to a close collaboration between CD Projekt Red and Platige Image, who know the universe of The Witcheras they were responsible for the intro cinematics in the previous installments of the series.
